One Sigma refers to 690,000 errors per million opportunities, or rejects or errors accounting for more than half of the total production. Finally, the company’s ultimate target is Six Sigma, which relates to only 3.4 failures per million opportunities. The goal is to limit the amount of errors or rejects as much as feasible. In this management system, there are numerous sigma levels.
